BMW 700 2 door saloon.
1961
PVS 489.
White ‘one for the serious BMW collector’.
This totally original and rare car spent its first 30years in the sunny climate of Malta, hence the remarkable state of preservation it’s in today, and showing an unwarranted but very believable 15,856 kilometres recorded.
Unrestored, original paint and trim as far as we can tell, engine, gearbox and running and driving is fine, no rust that requires welding etc. it has very straight and original body panels and shut gaps etc.
This must be one of the most original examples in existence. In the summer of 2012 it was invited to the Goodwood Revival where it was proudly on display in the ‘Blue and White garages used car department’ in the main paddock.
The BMW 700 model actually helped save BMW from bankruptcy in the day, so it is an important part of the German Car motoring history.
Recent oil change and brake recommission, this car is useable now, but will want gently pushing back into service again.
Paperwork on file as follows:
1980’s style V5 registration document showing no former keepers since October 1992. Original owner’s manual and wallet. Key set, HPI all clear certificate.
