MBL 118 – known as Mabel.

Empire green with green leather.

Low owners.

1500 cc B series, 4 cylinder.

4 on the tree/column gearbox.

A very original vehicle, virtually all original paint and bodywork. It is fitted with the very rare factory option of removeable rear seats enabling 7 people in total.

An early people carrier !

The whole car is extremely original and MBL 118 is often referred to as one the one best examples by those in the know.

Fitted with original push button radio, badge bar, wing mirrors and rubber original outside seals. Interior is green leather with quality green carpets. New battery fitted Aug 2022. It runs and drives really well indeed, and still gives that feel of an old car, rather than a restored car.

The rarity and originality of this example make it a very desirable classic car today.

The lucky new owner will have the choice of either leaving the wonderful patina and originality or with a small amount of work it could be possible concours contender in the future.

The external woodwork has a lovely honey colour to it and is excellent throughout.

From the history file it appears to have had just 4 owners from new. Also on file as follows:

  • Current red DVLA V5 registration document.
  • Numerous previous V5 registration documents through the ages including a copy of original buff logbook.
  • A large volume of previous MOT’s going back to and including many of the smaller handwritten ones.
  • 3 x A4 pages of attached tax discs.
  • Various letters, bills of sale etc, and sundry documents.
  • A small scattering of parts invoices.
  • Engine rebuild invoice at 82,450 miles.
  • Hpi all clear certificate.
  • The documentation indicates that the recorded mileage now at 6,030 could well be correct at 106,030 in line with all the previous MOT certificates, but we cannot absolutely warrant this.
  • Various workshop manuals and miscellaneous magazine articles of interest.

This desirable original car is known to owners club and specialists and is an important part of British motoring history heritage.
