This iconic Airsteam motorhome is a very rare sight, even in America, let alone in the UK.> Previously owned by an enthusiast who cherished and improved it whilst occasionally renting it out for music festivals etc to a few discerning fans, but primarily it was for him and his wife. A growing family was instrumental in the difficult discission to finally let her go after having had 7 very enjoyable years using it. Generally, is it in very good original, straight condition with the expected and indeed desirable signs of road trip patina, creating that wonderful ‘California Coast’ look with images of Route 66 and the like in one’s mind. As you look around it soaking up the atmosphere your mind is easily taken to another place whilst admiring while admiring its fabulous Americana styling. On the practical side, it runs and drives really-well and is mechanically very sorted having had a tune up, carb rebuild, batteries etc very recently, along with 6 new tyres. Also, not many miles ago it also had exhaust manifolds done, brake callipers and pads and many other items of service and improvement. Comes with several large file of instruction booklets, service history invoices and sundry documentation. At 28 ft and 14,800 lb GVWR it can be driven on a C1 Car licence, it drives beautifully, and it is really easy to get along with (Fabulous exhaust burble!). whilst it has not had a detailed inspection it appears that major items of equipment such as fridge, generator, central heating, water system, hot water etc all seam to function well, and it has a 240v hook up facility. Aero style, period 12v lighting throughout also sets a certain ambience. Sleeps 3 to 4 but the versatile layout can multi-function or morph into different configurations. It also has an original Zipdee Airstream style 6 metre side canopy awning in very good condition, with striped vinyl canvass, together with a toning awning mat. The future uses can be very variable for a classic vintage American RV like this, and it is most certainly now an appreciating classic icon, which at this size and weight is very useable on UK and European roads, unlike the HGV tag axle examples usually offered. This indeed is very a rare opportunity. WOW !!
